The loose leaf from Hunan steeps into such a smooth, sweet cup that I keep reaching for my second brew before the first is even cold. These pyramids are a lovely change from my usual flat green teas.
I’ve been steeping these silken pyramids at 175°F and the liquor comes out so clean and sweet, no bitterness at all. The leaves really do feel like silk in the strainer, and the fact they’re from Hunan shows in that gentle, grassy finish.
The dry leaves are so fine and silky they almost melt in the cup, and the liquor comes out a bright, clean green with a grassy sweetness that lingers. I’ve had it three mornings in a row and the brew stays smooth even when I forget it for a few minutes.
